About this journal

Aims and scope

The vitality of Philippine business and industry is sustained by a framework of laws that collectively ensure efficiency, competitiveness, and workplace protection. At the forefront, the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 (Philippine Republic Act No. 11032) streamlines government processes and reduces red tape, thereby improving the overall business climate. Complementing this, the Export Development Act of 1994 (Philippine Republic Act No. 7844) strengthens industries engaged in international trade, positioning Philippine enterprises to compete more effectively in global markets. Alongside these measures for efficiency and competitiveness, the Labor Code of the Philippines (Presidential Decree No. 442, as amended) provides the comprehensive foundation for employment relations, labor standards, and social welfare, ensuring that business growth is balanced with worker protection. Reinforcing this framework, the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Law of 2018 (Philippine Republic Act No. 11058) mandates stronger workplace safety and health regulations, safeguarding employees across industries. Together, these laws establish the environment in which Business Fora advances its mission as a peer‑reviewed, open access, trimestral journal dedicated for Philippine authorship and scholarship in business and allied industries.

Beside theory and practice, Business Fora emphasizes the integration of organizational strategies, industrial systems, and policy frameworks with the realities of Philippine enterprises. Its scope includes studies on corporate governance, entrepreneurial innovation, labor relations, employee dynamics, and trade development, while also engaging with broader debates in management and industry. To reflect this diversity, the journal accepts original researches, systematic reviews, capstone projects, feasibility studies, business case studies, policy briefs, theoretical or conceptual articles, and methodological papers. This diversity ensures that contributions span empirical investigations, conceptual advances, and applied solutions relevant to both local and international contexts. By contribution, the journal aims to publish research outputs with industry practice and governance, thereby refining management approaches, informing policy, and strengthening innovation capacity. It aims to reach entrepreneurs, policymakers, and practitioners who seek explore scholarships that bridge theory and application. Originally conceived to serve both local and international authorship, Business Fora continues to welcome contributions from scholars abroad. However, the journal places strong emphasis on Philippine contexts, which could be enterprises, industries, or labor communities, treating them as central arenas for scholarly exploration.
